Why Digestive Therapy ?

HOW we eat may be more important than WHAT we eat !

Obesity, over-weight while under-nourished and all resulting conditions are a growing health crisis.

Among “conscious eaters” on the other hand we see IBS, a wide

variety of eating disorders and food allergies becoming more and more common.

Digestive Therapy© recognizes that our relationship to food and our body's reactions to it is not merely about diet and nutrition.

Eating is as much about ingesting foods as it is about our emotions.

Different forms of stress like anger, resentment, fear, anxiety, judgement etc. all have their own unique effect on the Autonomic Nervous System.

Anger, for instance, might push up adrenaline levels while depression pushes up cortisol and anxiety will show up expressed in thyroid function.

These stresses also have unique patterns of effect on blood pressure, inflammation, secretion of digestive enzymes, neurotransmitters and hormones.

Psychological and emotional stresses have a much bigger effect on the proper functioning of our system than how many grams of nightshade vegetables we avoid or how many leaves of kale we eat !

Digestive Therapy© focuses on how psychology, spirituality and emotions affect both emotional eating behavior and the processing of the food by the Autonomic Nervous System.

Stop yo-yo dieting, stop eliminating foods in a never-ending search.

Find a healthy relationship with self, life, joy and nourishment !
